Teusner “Big Jim” Shiraz 2018, Barossa Valley
Known as the big cock wine because of Big Jim, a metre tall rooster that protects the hen house for James Wark, the grower behind this wine. Sadly, Big Jim’s no longer with us, not before he fought off and beat a much younger competitor for the job.
Big Jim is immortalised on the label, with the artwork done by James daughter Marnie Wark. Kym Teusner the winemaker, Vintage Cellars Winemaker of The Year, Gourmet Traveller Young Winemaker of the Year and the list goes on. This Shiraz is up there with Big Jim, King of the Barossa Shiraz castle.
